We’re excited to announce the proposed Hopkins Stone quarry to meet regional Victoria’s increasing demand for quarry products. The quarry’s products will include Class 2 and 3 road building material, an aggregate for road sealing and concreting, and crushed bluestone gravel for local farm trucks.
This website has been launched to keep the community updated on the current stage of the proposed project.
To date, the workplan has been endorsed by all relevant authorities. This is an important achievement as Hopkins Stone is focussed on establishing an environmentally responsible quarrying operation with a key focus on safety, conservation and delivering a reliable supply of high-quality product.
A planning application was recently lodged with Moyne Shire and the quarry is now advertised for public notice. There is a community meeting scheduled for Wednesday 14th October 2020, with more details to be announced shortly.
